Fitting a Martingale Correctly

Measure the widest part of your dog's neck, just behind the ears, and choose a size where that measurement falls near the middle of the range. The collar should slide over the head when loose. When the leash is pulled, the collar should sit snug while the two rings on the control loop stay slightly apart. If the rings touch, it's too loose.

Use the collar for walks and training, and remove it when your dog is unsupervised or crated.
